"Hello everyone and welcome to the website of CPD Sychdyn. I'd like to start of by thanking Paul "Yozza" Hughes for taking the time and effort to put together such a wonderful website. I'd also like to say thanks to Jimmy Williams and the Principality Building Society for ending our long search for new kit sponsors, this will be a major help as we look to take the club forward.

So here we are at the beginning of a new season, and I am under no illusions that we have a tough season ahead but I have every faith in the lads and there ability. After our promotion and a good pre-season behind us all the lads are now chomping at the bit to get our first game under our belt. We have added and strengthened the squad this year and there are a lot of places to be fought for, which has showed in pre-season friendlies. I'd like to thank the lads that were with us last year and have decided to move on, myself and the club wish them the best of luck.

I'd also like to welcome Haydn Bennett in to the management team. Haydn will act as my assistant manager through the season as well continue as a player. He is a very experienced player with a lot of football knowledge and I know the lads will listen and learn from him.

Also a big thank you to Gez who has stepped down as assistant manager but will remain as the club secretary. I'd also like to thank Sue Barnard who has decided to stay on as the club treasurer, her help and hassling of the lads for subs was much appreciated.

Heres to a good season and stay tuned."

Chairman/Secretary (August 2007)

This being the first time for me to contribute to our new web-site, makes it a very proud occasion, with exiting times ahead for the club. We are fortunate to have Paul (Yozza) Hughes’ expertise to help us with this and would like to thank him for his contribution.

I have been involved with CPD Sychdyn as Manager and Secretary since 1997 (and five years previously with the juniors). However, last season I steeped down to become Assistant Manager to Wotty (Andy). Andy as well as being Manager plays for the team and also coaches the squad of players and has proved what an important asset he has been in his first year with the club, by achieving promotion. I would like to thank ‘Wotty’ personally for his commitment and continued support and has brought a breath of fresh air to the club. I am confident he will make use of his experience and football knowledge to take the club forward and hopefully to premiership status. The club now has a blend of young talent and experienced players, which hopefully bodes well for the future.

Our new Assistant Manager Haydn Bennett (who is currently injured), I am sure is up for the challenge and will no doubt make good use of his vocal attributes from the touch line, just to keep the lads focused and on their toes (including referees!!).

This season Adam Walker takes over the captains arm band from Rob Lawrence and would like to thank Rob for his calm and influencing contribution last season as captain. Also all the lads at CPD Sychdyn would like to send their best wishes to Rob and his wife who got married on Sunday. The vice captain goes to Chris (twin) Barnard one of the many young talent we have at the club, who will hopefully be influential in motivating his team mates.

On Saturday the club registered their first win against CPD Cerrigydrudion after the 2 -1 defeat to Aston Park Rangers Res on the previous Wednesday. The lads did well after trailing 2 -1 against a young but competitive Cerrig, to come out on top 4-2 at the end of the first half after goals from Mark Weir, Richie Hughes (2) and Paul ‘Yozza’ Hughes. The second half was a closely fought game, until Athony Wolfe who replaced Mike Parker secured the well earned three points, when he beat the offside trap to neatly put his shot away past the advancing keeper, approximately ten minutes from time.

Our next opponent’s this Saturday is Abergele Rovers Res which will no doubt be a tough encounter, but I am confident the lads will again raise their game –

‘C’MON THE LADS’

On a finishing note I would like to thank ‘LEASON’ Homes for sponsoring our kit over the last two seasons and for their continued support. Our new kit sponsor will be Jim Williams to whom we are very grateful and appreciative for his support.
